I don't remember being told by an older generation what ageing was like. Maybe no one can give an accurate road map but - a bit like sex education - you might want to know the basics before getting there, even if the actual experience is entirely your own. So these are my observations about my own ageing. Mostly they are just my own thoughts but some are gleaned from my contemporaries, brave enough to be honest about their own experiences. I also wanted to say something online to communicate that many of us in our seventies and older are here and part of the online community, not - I have to admit - likely to be on Snapchat but at least willing to read and write blogs, look at websites and spend time on our keyboards.

This blog is likely to be influenced by my gender (female), ethnicity (white British), living independently, and in my seventies rather than my eighties or nineties. All these things make a difference.

So this blog is for people of any age who are curious about life. I hope you enjoy it.
