BLOG ENDING

Dear valued readers…
You may have noticed that it has been a while since the last blog was posted. Sincere apologies for the wait.
I am ending this blog, not because anything dramatic has happened but because there seems to be less to say. I know, there’s always more to say about getting older but not from me, or not at the moment.
This is just to do with the rhythm of life. Even at this age, interests and impulses change. I first started writing the blog in May 2021 and have posted each month ever since. Four years is enough.

I had made some notes about what I thought my next blog should be about - how hard it is to try to sum up a whole life for a 30 minute funeral. Similarly with writing about ageing, the day-to-day experiences of body and mind can’t really be summarised in a few paragraphs. With many of you, I am delighted to continue an ongoing conversation when we meet - rich conversations to be had, new thoughts emerging and, I hope, much laughter amidst the tears.
I want to thank so many of you for responding to Essays on Ageing over this longish time - a reward and affirmation that I hadn’t expected. I hope you know how valuable that has been to me.
With love
Chris
